The Davey Tree Care Co. was founded in Kent, Ohio by John Davey in 1880. For wealthy estate owners who didn’t have the ability or manpower to care for their magnificent specimen trees, Davey became the expert to which they turned to for help. One of the services they performed was tree surgery and splinting. The above set of photographs were taken in 1890 as documentation of one of their projects.
